Here is our new doggie. Kaiya finally named him yesterday. And since she loves Arthur I suppose I should have expected it. And while he won't be winning any beauty pagents any day soon he is adorable and we love him already!
Mylittle sister got me this tattoo for my birthday a couple of week s ago. It's on the inside of left forearm. Now everyone knows I'm a little obsessed. Just a teensy bit. It was the big 2 8. 30 is coming way too fast for comfort.
I have new knits in the shop. And many more to come. I have so many new ideas my needles can barely keep up! Autumn does that too me. It's funny how near the end of winter I just can't wait til spring and summer. Then once once it's here I'm soooo over it already! I'm a snowman at heart.
I attended my first actual craft show the week in Charlotte, here in NC. Hurrican Hannah was kind enough to pass us by though it was a bit windy.
And even though the turn-out wasn't anything to write home about ( buyers and sellers) I did pretty well. As you can see, I have a ton of new stuff to list in the shop.
On my back home my best friend called and asked me if I wanted a little stray doggie she had found. He is soo sweet! I have no idea what he is, some kind of terrier, I think. So we have a new addition to family. I'll try to get some pics of him to post tomorrow.
I've been away for awhile again. I only wish I had time to stop and smell the roses. Mothering, and being wife and apparently a maid, not to mention attempting to run my little business, is slowly wearing me down. We have been invited to a birthday party tomorrow afternoon but my best friend is taking me to a concert for my birthday, which is next month, tomorrow night. So the thought of cleaning all day (Monday is cleaning day, YAY!), going to a party and then going out tomorrow night is absolutely exhausting. I've been selling at the farmer's market every Saturday so I spend alot of time through the week making new stuff. I think I've just about reached the point where I throw up my hands and say ENOUGH!
Ok, I'm done wallowing in self pity. And I do have roses to share.
Having children has really affected my creativity. For the better, of course! The world is such a beautiful, colorful place and they really help you to see that. This is my take on the bunting. To me these are the colors of childhood.
And empty pages waiting to be filled.
I have a feeling you will be seeing lots more for little ones in my shop in the days to come. Who could help but be inspired by these tiny little people?
Molly from Molly's Knitted Bears tagged me the other day. My first tag! I was at the farmer's market on Saturday and have just been swamped since then. But I thought I'd take a few minutes while the girls are "napping" today.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Hmm....I was single and working in a bookstore. Sometimes I really miss that but my life is so much richer now.
2.Things on my to-do list.
5 things, yeah right! But I guess these would be my top 5. Clean my filthy house! Seriously, it's beginning to gross me out.
Finish the bunting I'm knitting. I was going to sew one but I thought this would be a great way to use up some of the crappy acrylic yarn I seem to have an abundance of.
Sew up some market bags. I thought what better to sell at the farmer's market, right?
Get my laundry caught up. Yes, I'm behind again.
Clean up my sewing room. This is on my to-do list every single day but only gets done a couple of times a week. I honestly have no idea how I get anything done in there.
3. 5 snacks I enjoy
Well, right now I am asolutely addicted to pizzaria Combos. The pretzel kind, I hate the crackers.
Iced coffee. I finally figured out how to make it really good. I'm to busy to break out the blender to make a frappacino
5th avenue bars
Hawaian Punch freezer bars
grapes
and COOKIES! I love to make them even more than I love eating them!
4.Things I would do if I were a millionare
I would completely remodel my house. Buy a minivan for all of the oodles of kids I hope to have. Get myself and my parents out of debt. Help out any of my loved ones that are struggling and then just kinda live comfortably and donate on a regular basis. I don't need very muchg so I don't know what I'd do with too much.
5.Places I've lived.
4 yrs ago my husband and I moved up to Michigan for about 14 months. In that time I got pregnant and had Kaiya. We moved back home North Carolina when she was about 4 months old. Other than that I've pretty much stayed put. I love my home in NC.
And now my 5 tags
1. Alisa of Life is a Beautiful Place to Be
2. Sandra of My Inspired Heart
3. Amanda of The Rowdy Pea
4. Jessica of Mia Joie
5. Rachel of Hamlette's Soliloquy
Ok, maybe now I'll go tackle that to-do list!
And finally pics of Kaiya Marie's little house that I made for her birthday. By the way, I hope you are enjoying the playlist. Some of my all time favorite songs!
The little bushes in the front kinda keep the front from flopping around when they go in and out. We moved it outside this morning but it fits nicely in her room. It's 4x4x4.
And this is a little hobby horse that my dad and I made. He cut the dowel down and made little wheels so that it doesn't drag along the ground. So sweet! I used some of my favorite fabrics on this little guy.
He is available in my shop. I hope everyone is staying cool. Looks like we're in for a hot one this year!
So sorry to have stayed away so long. My days have felt so overwhelming lately. Kaiya turned 3 this past Saturday. My goodness! I can't believe my little one is already 3 yrs old. She had such a lovely birthday but it kept me very busy getting ready for it. I made her a little fabric covered playhouse for her bedroom (I'll take pictures of it later). So between it and her sandbox she's pretty much moved out. I've also stayed pretty busy because she and Zoe have been taking turns getting sick for the past couple of weeks. Fun! But now I really must get to work. I promise not to wait so long to say hello again. And here are a couple of things I've been working on for the shop!
I also made one of these for Kaiya's birthday, so sweet!
I just love these gorgeous vintage hankies!
I saw these earring on Flickr and just had to have them, so Tait ordered them for me for Mother's Day. So gorgeous, I love the colors! I just got them a few days ago and wear them every chance I get. They're from a fellow Etsy seller jcn Studios. Her work is so lovely. Now I'm eyeing a bracelet from her that would look gorgeous with these!
The festival was terribly slow but we sold a few things. I'm looking forward to doing the Blackberry festtival in July. Mmmm....blackberries. But for now I'm just trying to get my house back in shape. I've been so busy the past week so this week is catchup.
