I'm a Grandma!

My sweet kitty, Sophia had her kittens today! Whodathunk I'd be a grandma at 27?

She is such a petty little momma's girl, though, that she tried to give birth right on my lap! She had been following me around all morning, mewing at me, so I figured her time was close. So I sat right here at the computer and she stood there, looking up at me, still mewing, so I held her on my lap. Next thing I know she's  breathing very shortly and grunting. I lifted her tail and saw the bag bulging! Good Lord, Cat! My lap is no place to give birth! So I made a little bed for her,and my sister, Zoe  and I watched her give birth to 3 sweet little kittens. Kaiya was napping and we didn't wake her in time. She (Sophia) wanted to move them, and as underneath my bed is not an appropriate home for a family of cats, I made her a fresh bed in the bathroom. 3 1/2 hrs later she gave birth to 2 more more kitties!

And this is Zoe's face after I made it very clear to her that no, she could not love the kitties to bits!

Awwww! Congratulations! I'm with Zoe -- I wanna love those kittens to bits. What sweeties :-) Can't wait for more pictures as they grow!
